Maybe because you love the current design and prefer an LCD mini-LED display over an OLED? Actually, mini-LED are becoming increasingly popular because they offer the best of two worlds.M5 MacBook is a non starter anyways. Why get the last model before the redesign.
To clarify - I mean Dynamic Island. Not dual camera lens. Agree with your point. And tbh I doubt that the potential customer for the e series cares about Dynamic Island too much.If Apple gives 17e two rear lenses, it goes up against iPhone 17 Air and 17 base. Same with Dynamic Island. Maybe Apple will consider adding MagSafe and UWB, but chassis or form factor changes are unlikely.
The 16e/17e is competitive enough in features. It's the pricing that could be cut by $50.
They, the underpinnings, are changing with every release. Views no longer resizable, help features missing, wack-a-mole usability, security restrictions released that are not ready for prime time (don't work with other Apple apps), features that are NOT user configurable, etc.Whatever you consider to be Apple’s “nanny fake rules”, you must know by now that the underpinnings of macOS aren’t going to drastically change, so you’re out of luck there. If Linux works for you, stick with Linux and don’t even bother with the Mac.
I hope so, even if it is modest. It just feels like such a slap in the face if you've waited a year to get the same cpu. That was awhile ago and when they split the lines to use different chips.
I would say we’ll see A19 and A19 Pro chips this year, as previous years.
Unlikely if tariffs are implemented. Apple was already considering general price increases later this year according to some reports. On the other hand, it would make sense to keep or lower the price (at least on the base model) to attract value-conscious customers. If Apple gives 17e two rear lenses, it goes up against iPhone 17 Air and 17 base. Buy the old phone cheaper?I hope so, even if it is modest. It just feels like such a slap in the face if you've waited a year to get the same cpu.
Your words sound very convincing, and I'm sure you have many concrete complaints about macOS.They, the underpinnings, are changing with every release. Views no longer resizable, help features missing, wack-a-mole usability, security restrictions released that are not ready for prime time (don't work with other Apple apps), features that are NOT user configurable, etc.
Apple's macOS is no longer inclusive in functionality to meet different user's needs, you have to be a user that conforms to Apple's nanny expectations and limited use cases.
That is an old misconception. Granted the UI is not as polished, but it is much more adaptable that macOS these days.Your words sound very convincing, and I'm sure you have many concrete complaints about macOS.
From a day-to-day user perspective, though, I don't find that they ring true in my use case. macOS is still eminently usable for a wide range of applications.
As for Linux, I'm sure it's fine for power users and people who enjoy spending time on configuration and settings and getting their hands dirty, so to speak, but I think there's another world of users out there who just don't want to or have the time to spend on command line-level tweaking.
PWM isn't a topic in the world outside of Reddit threads. Blown out of proportion by an (affected) vocal minority.Maybe because you love the current design and prefer an LCD mini-LED display over an OLED? Actually, mini-LED are becoming increasingly popular because they offer the best of two worlds.
Also, many people can’t stand the OLED displays Apple uses on their devices due to aggressive PWM.
I probably would but can take advantage of AT&T's trade-in program that's worth like $600 so it doesn't make a ton of sense to get an older model. Maybe I'll just get the 17 pro but I really don't want the extra weight.Buy the old phone cheaper?
I honestly don’t think I’ll be buying g a new iPhone again. They’re like new cars and so over priced and lose so much value brand new it’s just not worth it.
I’ll keep my mini as long as I can. I have AppleCare as well. It’s going to take a bit to convince me to upgrade and even then right now I’d buy a 15 pro over anything else.
