I saw a bunch of guys at the UCLA campus wearing them that were doing Parkour (or at least trying to). When they were finished, they took them off and put them back in their shoebox, as if they were sacred.

I don't like having things between my toes, so I doubt I'd find them comfortable. They look cool though....

You could go out in them and leave footprints for people to find afterwards! Bigfoot hits Chicago!! :)

Strike the ground harder when wearing shoes? Probably.

Does the design of the my shoes take up any of that force? Probably.

Those are some pretty big "probably"s.
And like you said…I skimmed the complete article, but it doesn't even give the first step towards coming up with a conclusion as to whether shoes are bad or good.

I'm merely suggesting that there are a lot of factors we don't as yet fully understand, and we can't draw a conclusion either way. Probably.

+1. They look unnatural.

Umm...no. they look like your feet.

Either way, just got home from buying a pair. First impressions? These things are awesome. They truly do feel like walking barefoot. My toes move like they feel they should, and these are probably the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever worn. So far, I'm happy. I just did house work in them and my feet feel great. :)

I spend most of the summer walking barefoot for obvious health reasons, so I like the concept of these shoes. However, I am told they stink to high heavens after just a bit of use.

EDIT- just walked up and down the stairs. It was kind of cool. :)

You've really got me geeked to get some and try them for running... even with the very generous toe-boxes of my Saucony shoes, I always have problems with my toes getting beaten up, and maybe even some mild inflamation at the top of the big toe joint. They might be perfect. To put on my toe-do ;) list after I get back from Mex.

They are machine washable. Oh- and use foot powder, or spray. You'll be fine. ;)

Do it. I wore them all day yesterday. I just put regular shoes back on and I now hate all regular shoes. Wow- I am totally convinced that these shoes are the best thing since sliced bread. :)

EDIT- I showed them to two people in my office and they want to get some too. :)

Did you get the KSO's or the Sprints ?

Glad you like them.

One really fun things to do , is run in them on forest trail with lots of logs and tree trunks to scamper over.
feels so wild and free

or climb a tree :p

I'm going to use them on a seven story indoor climbing wall this weekend. The fact that I like to climb now is all Iscariot's fault. ;) He took me to my first climbing facility in Toronto.

Guiltyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
Woo. I've been thinking about trying a pair of these for a couple of years now. Probably will now. :)

Just be aware that being shod has almost certainly lead to certain muscles being overdeveloped and certain muscles being underdeveloped. Changing to these shoes is going to change the biomechanics of your foot, ankle, knee and hip. The load on your tendons, muscles and bones will shift, and so with it the tensegrity of your entire body. Acclimate.

Do it! I'm wearing mine around the house right now. They are so comfortable it's ridiculous. Regular shoes don't feel as comfortable at all now.

Be sure to post how they work out for climbing. I've been very curious about that. I just need to find a place I can conveniently get to while it's still open to get some.

Understood. I wasn't really planning on going out running with them straight away, and despite my flat-footedness I actually have a fair amount of experience wandering around barefoot. I'm literally a walking OSHA violation around the office most days. I probably need to re-strengthen some bits to get back to peak form, but I'm comfortable with the gait in any case.
