Lol what idiots.

I see a lot of local ads of people trying to sell their old MacBooks for more than you can get a current gen, same size for. I'm always like good god.
 
I actually came across this listing couple days back, after clicking the "sold" tab it showed the prices purchased at were $795. So, this is definitely a mistyped price.

I sometimes think that's possible if your MBP was on the high end with upgraded RAM and SSD. Also, years left on the AppleCare warranty.

I always wonder why they just don't go to Amazon or elsewhere. eBay sellers like to charge above market price.
 
not to mention the eBay fees and commission that seller would have to pay...
some people are just out of touch, I could buy a whole new Macbook Pro 15" for that money 😕
