I’ve got my plastic shovel…😱, why plant milkweed when I can dig for iPhones & Mac mini’s #nowthatsgardening 🌱🌱💰

Seems crazy to go to all the trouble of preparing and planning the break in, steal the iPhones, when they will in all probability have all the IMEI's logged and from there disable and brick the iPhones. Just seems pointless to do all of this to be left with iPhones that are going to be useless, unless I'm missing something?

😄

I see women complain about this, but I want to offer another perspective. I often leave the lids up. Why is that? Because I know there’s too many guys out there that spray the entire toilet seat. Talk about no aim. It may be a small inconvenience to let the seat down when it’s time to sit down, but I’d argue that is a preferable alternative to cleaning up someone else’s pee. As a guy I’ve had to clean up my fair share of other peoples’ pee when I need to sit down and it’s the worst.
As a guy who sometimes has to sit down on a public restroom, I fully agree with you.

And as a guy who quite often pees being sat down in my own home, I don’t see the inconvenience in lowering the toilet seat.

Also, an extra tip: if you are careful with the hygiene, I recommend closing the lid of the toilet (the lid that closes everything) before flushing. Many public toilets flush with high pressure and quite often they spray almost invisible micro-droplets that can contain microbes, and you can breathe them or they can spread across the whole WC, your clothes, and your personal items.

Kind of surprises me how the store had hundreds of iphones in stock. atop of other devices of course...

Also, it feels kind of shortsighted. As if apple couldn't blacklist and thus effectively brick every single phone with a flick of a finger...

They did not ‘rob’ the store, they burgled it. Robbery involves force or the threat of force against an individual. No one was present at the Apple Store.

Why would they need to track them? Those thieves have probably split up locations of those phones and isn't worth it I am sure they have insurance and they also have the IMEI, serial number, everything to blacklist the phones and make it so they can't activate them. The real victim are those people who are going to be fooled by "brand new" iphone and not know (and I would say the coffee shop too). Hopefully they can get the IMEI uploaded quick so potential buyers can do their own due diligence
Other than the wholesale loss, why should Apple care about activation? Apple and others make money (App Store, accessories, etc.) when phones are activated and used. Those phones on the network will actually reduce their loss from the theft.

Doesn’t Apple know the serial numbers of the stolen devices? And doesn’t that then riddle them useless? Seems like significant risk for practically zero reward. I assume I’m missing something.

I’ll give the thieves credit: interesting technique. Reminds me of the old 80’s Stallone soccer film, Victory. If a soccer and movie fan, it’s a must see.

How can they even be activated? Are they scrapped for parts, sold in China or simply sold to unsuspecting buyers who don't know they're stolen? I always figured cellphone theft was a waste because of the IMEI number.

Seriously, anyone with a functioning brain and basic map reading skills can tell you otherwise.

Maybe he never bothered to look at a mall layout in detail but focused on runnibg a store? How his bathroom at the back of teh store aligns to the stores next door isn't really something he's concerned about. It's easy to look at it after the fact and criticize.
