Was tempted to buy it in the past, now glad I didn't. UI looks a little tired and doesn't seem that powerful. Think I'll stick with OF or my own todo app.

I can see this getting a lot of 1 star reviews from people who don't understand the GTD (Getting Things Done) methodology, which Things is based on.

I've used Things, it's not bad, but I switched over to OmniFocus as Things hadn't been updated in a while & seemed abandoned by the developers. That seems to be changing now.

Used it, but no longer!

I bought Things right after it was first released for iOS and later also bought the Mac version. Initially, I was quite happy with the product, although it had some rough spots. The developers did work on updates, but they never seemed to fix the things that seemed obvious to me.
After a while they introduced cloud syncing and I was very excited, ... i.e. until I understood, that they wanted me to use their "cloud" and didn't want to offer an iCloud solution. On top of that the old sync method got disabled and then was re-introduced but only for an older version of the app.

That was the straw that broke the camel's back.

I dumped Things and switched to native Apple solutions (mostly Reminders) and got instant iCloud-syncing as an extra. I can now do (almost) everything I need with Reminders, so bye-bye Things!

They sure do want alot of money for something that looks like it belongs on Android 2 years ago.

Well, I happily downloaded the app but it looks like both the iPhone and iPad versions are seriously limited compared to the Mac version. Perhaps the most troublesome is inability to assign task to contacts. So no wonder the apps are free. You need to buy the Mac version for "pro" features.

well...seeing as it is the App of the Week, I GOT it.

but not sure I can see the usefulness based on the App page or the company's webpage. no real details or things stand out to me.

I wish developers put things front-and-center and not just hiding stuff behind a cool webpage.

i'll take a flyer on this cause the apps are free, but i'm wondering whether it's worth the $35 for the mac version to get complete integration across all my devices. I use wunderlist right now (which is free for the ios & mac app) and it seems to be a pretty well done todo app. for those that use things, what so good about it and is it that much better ($35) than wunderlist?

Thanks Apple!

I seem to be on this cycle where I rotate between Reminders, Wunderlist and Things every few months. I'm never completely satisfied with any of them but I have stuck with Things the longest.

All of these task management apps are a non-starter for me if I can't access them from my PC at work. I can with Notes and Reminders.

Case closed.

And that's exactly why I use Flow (www.getflow.com)

Always like OmniFocus, but if I can't pull it up on my PC where I spend about 40-50% of my time depending on the week...useless. Don't need a native PC app, but a web app at the very least.

I simply don't trust these developers. Overpriced apps, lazy updates. Even if the apps are GET for now, I'm sure they have a plan how to keep milking everyone regularly. :/

Thanks for that! I haven't tried this before and after a bit of testing it is much better than Things!

I've used 2do since 2009 and there was just a big big update not long ago. I only paid $6.99 once and have received 5 years of upgrades! This developer is simply amazing. 2do is quite comprehensive in features and has been an indispensable app for my work.

Things Rocks

Things is one of the apps I can't live without, I tried so many productivity/lists apps but nothing beats Things ease of use, sync reliability and design.

The Mac app is pricy, the iPad one isn't cheap but it worths every penny.

Apps like OmniFocus offers much more options and customizability but for me they're just overwhelming, maybe useful for people who are very very busy ;)

Yeah, 2DO is really the best GTD/ToDo app right now, both for Mac and iOs, and I bought nearly all similar apps now through the years..
The iOS version was kind of ugly before, I hated using it, but the latest release is fantastic looking and very powerful. And update was free. 2Do is also way ahead of Omnifocus, wich is the most popular right now.

One thing I like about Things is that it doesn't nag me. For many people this will be a negative, but I hate nagging. :p

Their previous heavily skeuomorphic interface was considered to be beautiful in 2009. Glad that they spent so much time redesigning the app from the ground up with a modern interface!

Normally between $10 and $50. How do they justify those prices for something so trivial? Out of the box I can do the same things in Calendar and Notes on my iPhone.
This! I never found out what Things did that made it worth the €45 or €31 for that matter. Surely the ability to create a bunch of smart folders can't be it.
