Hockey is the only real sport. That and paintball. Mr. Durden, You, Dejo, AVsRock, and me. I think there's one more, but I haven't seen him/her around for a while... Rdowns is a frequent visitor though.

Hockey and ummm, whats that other one.... I'm drawing a blank... OH YEAH, FOOTBALL. Its the Denver Friggin Broncos, man. But yeah, after hockey and football our sports franchises really leave a lot to be desired.

Oh, for the original poster, a cool place to visit is Cave of The Winds, and also the Royal Gorge. Beautiful places to visit. Maybe about 45 minutes south of Parker. And if you do go to Casa Bonita, the foods not THAT bad. Not great, but not that bad.

Aha! a fifth MR member in Denver. Woot! Our numbers are growing!

Oh, and for anyone that likes bars, there's a place off of Arapahoe just east of I-25 called JD's Baitshop. Great bar. Hot waitresses, great environment, very little BS and fights. Old and young alike hang out there with no problems. Everyone's cool there. One of my favorite bars.

I hung out there one night; great place and atmosphere. LOL moment of the night was standing in front of the urinal with an ad for a drunk driving lawyer above it.

Coming out in June. Things going well with new office so I'll be looking for permanent space (in a shared office space now and we just hired 2 more). Will be a monthly visitor for a while. Very lovely city and a nice change of pace from NYC.

Also need to mention Cinzzeti's. Good all you can eat Italian for $15.

I told my friend when I come to visit later this year I have to go there.
I checked out the menu and it sounds pretty awesome! We're definitely going to have to hit that place up while we're there.

As a caveat, I just thought I would echo Oni's comments about Denver. Lori might remember the last time I got on my Denver soapbox, I was complaining about the same thing. It's a small town that tries to act like a big city (compare with Seattle which is a City that feels like a small town - it's really nice) and tends to create somewhat overly annoying people. But, there is enough around Denver to make things a good bit of fun.
I'll try to stay away from these "overly annoying people." ;)

Thanks again for the suggestions, everyone! I'm very excited about this trip. :D

Don't mislead the poor kid. It's horrible. What yous gots to do is dress to the nines THEN go to Casa Bonita. Somehow a chicken that manages to taste worse than what you get at Taco Bell on a bad day isn't so bad when you're wearing a tux.

I think they are moving the Cherry Creek location, and I've never been to the Highlands Park one. I guess that leaves LoDo :).

Have fun

Tattered Cover Highlands Ranch is SMALL. I go there all the time because it's still a very nice bookstore, but it's nothing compared to LoDo...

AHA! Ther'es the other member I was thinking of.

That's six. We can have a hockey team now. Though we'll all be ont he ice for the full 60 minutes... I can do it.

Well, considering I can't ice skate, it'll be like a 60 minute penalty kill.

haha foco here..........you mean lacross and frisbee golf right lol

I don't think anyone mentioned Boulder or the flatirons (mountains right outside Boulder). Good place to spend a day...nice scenery and you could checkout downtown Boulder for lunch/dinner or shopping.

Royal Gorge in Canon City is good for a day trip as well - I went rafting there once. Got tossed from the raft going through some rapids. Good times.

Red Rocks is without question the best outdoor ampitheater I've ever been to.

I camped at a lake out in RMNP that was pretty cool (I forget the name of it). It was mid-June when we were there and most of the campsite area still had a foot or two of snow covering it (it was 85 degrees & sunny while we were there).

Get outdoors while you are there - there's tons of options near Denver. I don't live there, but I've gone to visit several times since one of my friends moved there a few years ago.
