I sold mine with a beat up otter box, no belt clip though. It was a 16gb white 3GS. I got $175 for it,gave him the charger and used ear buds. I kinda wish I kept it and connected to the tv, but there may be an apple tv in my near future!

I upgraded my 3Gs to iOS5 and it works great! If I move to a 4s this week, I'll likely give it to my son for games or what not.

Mine is now essentially an iPod. I restored it, hid the unnecessary Apple apps in folders, turned on all the restrictions, leaving only the Video app on the front screen. It's now loaded with as many kids movies from my media library that the 32 GB can hold and connected to the rear entertainment system in my SUV via composite cables. Now I don't have to worry about carrying DVDs in the car and my kids can watch whatever movie they choose without bothering me while I'm driving.

Going to be doing the same thing to my wife's old 3GS for her car now that she picked up a new 4S.

Now this is a good idea, I think I may end up doing the same thing, instead of in the car however, it will be for my TV.

Does the 3GS support component out?

My 3GS will be on my computer desk collecting dust... I wouldn't even give it to a family member, only because the on/off button doesn't work anymore (I dropped it about two weeks before the preorder date hah-- a good excuse to get the 4S!).
However, I have an unused case for the 3GS that I'll either give to a family member or eventually sell.

mine is going to be my beater/iPod Touch for running, yard work, and extra storage in general! I'd sell it but its beat to hell and the vibrate function is faulty :apple:

After a lot of thinking, I have decided to pass it on to my mom, who desperately needed a new phone. She was on an unlocked first generation, and I just put iOS 5 and gave her the 3GS. "It is a much faster phone!" - and for what she uses the phone for, the 3GS is perfect, the only apps she uses are WhatsApp, Facebook, and Chase.

Unfortunately I can't unlock my unit. It seems to have a baseband that is not unlockable. So I am selling it to gazelle, wish I could have unlocked it. Have a buyer ready for an unlocked phone.

I'm thinking about jailbreaking mine and installing an NES emulator and just using it for portable gaming. Or maybe putting some music on it and turning it into an iPod touch.

But I'll probably just let it sit and rot, bc I feel more comfortable having it be a "backup" replica of the moment I transferred to the 4S haha
