I hear you, and you're not the only one.
That roll out and implementation of that deal was a complete nightmare.
No process in place whatsoever

This sounds like my experience dealing with T-Mobile and that iPhone credit. If they paid me for every hour I spent trying to get them to honor this credit I’d have paid for my iPhone 7’s many times over.

Last time it was more of a last minute type of thing from Tmobile without much planning or process behind it.
Not even the customer service reps knew for sure what was going on and how it will all work.
Im sure we'll see a deal but not sure if it will be as good as last years.
Given Verizon and AT&T just copied T-Mobile and had less than 24 hours to set it up, I'm amazed their process went so much smoother.

It didn't for me at least. After 6 months of calling AT&T every month trying to get the credit I finally had to go in person to my local store and tell them that I wasn't leaving until I had my money. It worked out in my favor in the end, but it was a nightmare to get a resolution.

Curious, where did you buy your phone and did you use the promo code for the offer?

I purchased my iPhone 7 on release day from AT&T corporate store after I got off from work so my iPhone 6 inspection and trade-in was processed in store. Iirc, got a lump sum credit for the first 3 months after 2 billing cycles and $27/mo thereafter.

It was at that same AT&T corporate store that I eventually went back to with my original receipt detailing the trade-in.

I hear you on that.
Tmobile wouldnt even give me a return shipping box or envelope.
The rep on the phone told me to put the old iphone 6 inside the iphone 7 box and slap the label on it. WTF? :D
Then I went to a local Tmobile store and they wouldnt accept it but they gave me a big bubble envelope that could fit about 15 iphone boxes inside and told me that's all they got.
Figure it out myself :D

Haha so true

It's funny how they really did nothing for me with how many times I've called, tweeted, and emailed and had to climb the ladder almost to the top

Yet people with a small issue got there phones paid off in the spot.
