Fellow Mac Crazies,

My cousin and I are getting tattoos reading "Think Different" on the inside of our wrists (no lie). We live by the Think Different poem that Apple created, and seeing as we are both Apple crazies, we want to get this motto tattooed to remind us to always be awesome. The problem is we can't find a kick ass font which is the quality that would be demanded for such a permanent application. Thats where you come in! If you have any ideas please share your 2 cents with us. We need some help and greatly appreciate your input. :D

Sincerely,
E and A
Think Different - Wrist Power

I have one (like this) on the back of my neck!

I saw this one

the other day and found it quite amusing...

As to the OP question, are you looking for a groovy font, something more stylized, or maybe the original "Apple-style" version?

Well... so far we have this list of fonts we kinda dig.

Calibri
Copperplate
Footlight
Lucidia Blackletter
Rothwell
Squealer

That kinda gives a sense for what were looking for. Simple, clean, but fun fonts.

I quite like the Helvetica/Helvetica Nue family. If you like Calibri, might be worth looking at.

American Typewriter is pretty cool. I agree with gibbz- I would go with the font that Apple used in the original ads.

If you're getting ink on your wrist, make sure that you can easily cover it with sleeves (and that it won't stick out of your sleeve when you reach for something or shake someone's hand), and make sure you're not the kind of person that would want to wear short sleeves to work (or your future work). Although tattoos are more mainstream now, they are still frowned upon by much of the corporate and professional world.

I have tattoos, but I could never get one anywhere below the halfway point of my biceps. I worked for five years in the healthcare industry, and I know that my patients would not have taken me as seriously if they knew about my tattoos. In about a year, I am going to be entering the corporate world. My tattoos will remain hidden underneath the suits I will be wearing, but if I decide to take my jacket off and roll up my sleeves, none of them will show. Appearance is important.

Tattoos are awesome- especially if they have meaning to you and if they are done well. Spare no expense, do a lot of research, stare at your design for months if you have to. Find the best artist you can, because it will be with you forever.

If you live in Toronto, I can recommend an amazing artist.

i would never get a tattoo advertising a company.....

I agree. And why get a tattoo of a brand or corporate slogan that says "Think Different?"

This is only 0.038% of a level above the Zune guy. Well, a bit higher - he got more than one.

what happens if apple turns into a nasty company and their products start really sucking?
I don't know why anyone would want a corporate logo on them.

Zune Guy had the sense to get it removed. ;) He even admitted later how silly it was.

He did? I didn't make it a point to follow his progress.

methinks he just wanted to have M$ make him famous is all that was.

I have tattoos. I'm not against tattoo's.

But this is a horrendous idea.

People have posted "Apple" logos before and quite frankly, its ridiculous.

Its your body and all that but they look hideous. Its not personal, its a company. Your body is yours - not Apples. Why brand it so?

NEVER NEVER NEVER get marketing slogans tattooed. That is just stupid. Something like the power icon, although techy and somewhat lame will at least keep it's meaning.

At least when getting a "think different" tat, you don't have to worry about the context going away, because it already has, years ago.
