You want the name of the International Gay Pride Calender on your wrist?;) (Third result in this google search- I didn't want to link directly, as it is NSFW)

This would apparently be the result of ignoring the first two links, which, if your language skills did not already tell you so, would tell you that it's probably the Russian word for "nothing." ;)

But if you get it tatto'd on your neck, it ought to be in Cyrillic, niet?

Nah..... I'm positive he was talking about the name of the International Gay Pride Calender.
I mean..... "Nothing" vs. "International Gay Pride Calender"..... The choice is obvious.
You need to really think things through before you post. ;)

It sounds like you guys are more inspired by the meaning of the slogan rather than the slogan itself. Why not "think different" and get something that embodies the individuality and creative spirit that you feel in being a part of the :apple: community. I have a tattoo and as others have said it needs to be something special to you that will remain special all of your life. The other thing is when you show it to someone and tell them your reasoning for getting it, you want them to understand how it reflects you. A corporate slogan, no matter how much you love the company will always reflect them more than it reflects you. Seriously, think about it.

American Typewriter is pretty cool. I agree with gibbz- I would go with the font that Apple used in the original ads.

If you're getting ink on your wrist, make sure that you can easily cover it with sleeves (and that it won't stick out of your sleeve when you reach for something or shake someone's hand), and make sure you're not the kind of person that would want to wear short sleeves to work (or your future work). Although tattoos are more mainstream now, they are still frowned upon by much of the corporate and professional world.

I have tattoos, but I could never get one anywhere below the halfway point of my biceps. I worked for five years in the healthcare industry, and I know that my patients would not have taken me as seriously if they knew about my tattoos. In about a year, I am going to be entering the corporate world. My tattoos will remain hidden underneath the suits I will be wearing, but if I decide to take my jacket off and roll up my sleeves, none of them will show. Appearance is important.

Tattoos are awesome- especially if they have meaning to you and if they are done well. Spare no expense, do a lot of research, stare at your design for months if you have to. Find the best artist you can, because it will be with you forever.

If you live in Toronto, I can recommend an amazing artist.

agreed 100% -- if I didnt have a corporate job, i'd have full sleeves of tattoos up and down both arms. but right now all my tattoos can be covered with a polo shirt. oh well.

1 year later...

So my cousin Amy and I got the tattoos! Here is mine:

To clarify, the tattoo is not to advertise Apple. We both believe the Think different poem transcends a company and represents a mindset, one that is very valuable and essential in today's world.

Thanks for all the feedback! :apple:

Pretty cool. What's most important is that you are happy with it. I stand by what I said in my previous post (#29), but I don't think the general person immediately connects "Think Different" with Apple. Sure macheads and some other people will, but Apple hasn't used that ad campaign since 2002.
