Because I tend to be meticulous about some things I fervently recorded all information about the iPhone I was about to ship and the place to where I would be shipping it, the tracking info all along the way..... Only after I received a text from AT&T informing me that they had received my iPhone (something like 3 1/2, maybe even four weeks after I had initially handed it in at the PO) and that it was in the condition described (very good!) and that I didn't need to do anything further did I finally relax,.....but even at that it took another two or three days before I finally threw away the relevant paperwork, which included the receipt from the PO the day that I shipped it back, the tracking info throughout several days and weeks......
I can tell you all right now, I'm never going through that again! When the time comes for my iPhone X this time next year and I want to go ahead and buy whatever the next iteration is, fine, I am going to pay off my iPhone X so that I don't have to go through the nail biting angst that I did this time. I'll deal with selling it on my own or whatever later...... And I didn't even have a bad experience such as you did!
As I mentioned earlier, the website to which I was referred to check the tracking was newgistics.com. There was a place on there to click the link to Track My Item or some such. I simply put in the tracking number which I had and the progress of the package showed up, but it seemed as though the progress of my package across country was amazingly slow...... I did make allowances for the fact that I was shipping this item right at the beginning of the holiday season shipping rush. Not sure now but from what I recall, as I went along I think I was able to see the entire tracking record of my package even towards the end of the journey, so if you can check that you might be able to document your shipment all the way right from your local PO to the AT&T warehouse. After that, well, since they lost the package, it's really their responsibility to make good, isn't it?
