Just bought an iPad Air 2 from Target...16GB WiFI Space Gray only $399...that's what the price will be anyways "IF" a new iPad Air 3 comes out...and that isn't even a sure thing right now.

I always recommend buying what you need or want now. Waiting on technology is an endless and frustrating goal. Better to seize the day. Having said that, if you know something new is coming out tomorrow, then by all means wait for the update, but don't wait on a rumor.
