also,

are those "screen protectors" necessary? or will the iskin achieve the same effect since it prevents the keyboard from imprinting to the screen right?

I'm also concerned about "corrosions" near the palmrests, is it worth it to invest in a palmrest cover from marware? anyone have experience with this?

Well...After much research, my portable MB kit: includes a marware palmrest, a radtech ScreenSavrz and an iSkin for the keyboard. I know the marware product comes with a keyboard protector, but I wanted a fuller one to cover the screen itself.

I don't think it's overkill with what I've chosen - I will be carrying my MB everyday and using it in places I can't just go and wash my hands first etc. For a machine that will cost me 'x' dollars, spending less than 1% of the purchase price in making the palm-rests a bit more cushier, keyboard & screen cleaner isn't a big deal. I've also purchased a very robust case that gives me piece of mind too.

Out of principle though - I'd never buy a cooling device for my portable - I don't think we should have to add these 3rd party devices for an issue that should be addressed within the portable itself.

Back to the question: which doesn't address the corrosion factor, but I would think the marware product would at least stop the corrosive particles transferring to your skin and thus minimising the pitting in some MBPs.
