Hi guys,

Need a bit of advice...

I live in the UK and just bought the new MBP 15' i7 and I'm having a few issues with it, so I'm thinking about returning it.

Firstly, the underside of my MBP clicks when I press on a certain area. It's bugging me to hell cos when I type I can hear it clicking.

Another problem is that when I open the lid and push it back to the furthest position, it also clicks/cracks on the right hand side. (I'm very gentle when I do this, I don't jam it hard or anything)

They aren't issues that will affect my usage of the machine too much, but having paid over £2100 for the thing, I expect a bit more.

So, I'm thinking I'm gonna return the thing and get a replacement. But I just wanted to get an understanding of all my options before making a decision cos where I live, we don't have an Apple store. I'd have to go into London.

So, my questions are:

1) Will they consider giving me a replacement given the issues I've just described?

2) I've heard that Apple gives a 2 week cooling off period in which time you can return a product no questions asked, provided you pay a restocking fee. Does this apply in the UK? My 2 week period comes to an end next Friday.

3) What is the returns procedure? Do I just take the thing into an Apple store or do they come to my house to pick it up?

4) How is Apple in general with returns? Do they get a replacement out to you fairly promptly and efficiently?

Thanks in advance. Your help is much appreciated!

Mine did the same thing with the hinge clicking.

Just take it into the store, show them the problem, show them your receipt that you only bought it under 2 weeks ago, and they'll give you a brand new one.

Make sure to backup first.
