I just wanted to update this; after reviewing the battery specs I ordered the 13 Pro Max again. I would have tolerated a phone with less camera doodads and great battery; even a smaller but thicker phone. But once again the consumers are left with choosing a giant phone with all the premium features or “one of the others.” To all those getting the 13 Pro it does look like the battery will be improved but I feel like they could have made it thicker to put even more battery in it and nobody would have complained about it. I still prefer the form factor of the Pro/Standard models over the Pro Max.
I actually went with the 13pro coming from my 11 pro max.
The battery on the new pro looks to be a slight improvement over my 11PM so I’m hoping at worst case it’ll be a wash battery wise.
The features are identical between the 2 this time around, other than the bigger battery and screen size in the PM.
From my perspective, the 13PM is slightly bigger than the 11PM and it’s already a stretch for me to use the 6.5 screen so from handling a 12 PM to test out it felt heavier and unbalanced in my hand and even more thumb stretching to get around the larger 6.7 screen and the 13PM is heavier than the 12.
I originally didn’t want to go the pro route because my wife has an 11pro and the 5.8 screen felt too tiny however the 12/13 pro’s moved up to a 6.1 screen and that didn’t feel so bad when playing with the 12pro and was much easier to move around the screen and while smaller it didn’t feel like it was that much smaller to my eyes.
I’ll use the 14 day window to test out the smaller size and if it doesn’t work out for me I’ll just switch back to a max.
