AIM away messages are very important to me...is there any way to transfer them from my pc to a mac?
iChat is just Apple's re-lable of AIM anyway.
Away messages work the same, but you also get Video Chat and encryption.
What? Please tell me you are kidding?
Don't get a Mac if the deal breaker is away messages. Please save us all.
I, too, am hoping he's joking.
Copy and paste?
lol...this is the funniest question I've read.
maybe the op is just joking around?
if so, good one!
It's not that strange of a question.
My daughter wanted to install AIM on my G5, just because she was used to using
AIM on her P/C
I showed her how to configure iChat and now she loves it.
She would like a better selection on smilies though.
She's actually more upset that my firewall settings limit what she can do
Just copy them over manually. I bet your away messages are old anyways, time for something new. you could also try to send yourself the AIM preferences file.
well, i'm really half joking lol
i AM getting a mac, and a friend of mine who has converted me offered to manually convert all of my hundreds of away messages over if i buy one
when i got the pc im on now i was able to switch them over by copying the windows registry file to a disc...but apparently on macs the away messages arent stored in the registry so it would be hard(impossible) to switch them over, i just thought maybe clever someone here would know a way
