13" Ultimate

13" Ultimate.

Got the low end 13" for the wife and I was so jealous (TiBook 400Mhz G4 upgraded to this), that even looking at the box in the bedroom was just too much to bear. Made a lot of sacrifices to get the 13" Ultimate but soooOooo worth it.

1.8Ghz cpu really flies ...
RAM 4GB, SSD ... 5 seconds from cold boot to full logon (with 13character pw). More power than an iPad with just a slight lag to instant use.

Thank you Apple. THIS is what Lion was made for! I hate lion on my late 2009 Mini but love it on this. 11" Ultimate - just too pricey for what you get and its' just too small.

My only complaint...

Got my 13 inch i7 MBA and really love it!

My only complaint is the SD card slot. I mean... come on!! Is it really so hard to make a card slot that can hold the entire card rather than leaving half of it sticking out? The MBA is a wonderful machine, and if the SD card slot was better designed, it would have be the perfect machine IMHO.

Id say buy it, dont wait till next year or a few months from now, after the ivy bridge models another model will come up 2 years from now and its probably better. The current model now is sufficient for a lot of people's needs , except gaming.

Id say i love it so much , i bought a zagg shield because i want it to look shiny, protect it from dust and scratches and it does a pretty good job, makes cleaning easy too. I usually use, adium safari adobe fireworks mail skype text edit and so far it works really well on these programs. I have no regrets buying this machine, im only concered on the damage to the inside parts, screen or maybe some dents, so you have to be careful. I hook it up to an external monitor at home and it works pretty well.

>> On using flash games - fans start to kick in especially when your game has a lot of animations.

>> App store / Steam - the app store is a bit sluggish , i think they can fix this in the next update. If you want to do some gaming on the air, you can use steam, but im having a hard time installing the updates, seems to crash / freeze a lot.

>> Grey bezel is not a problem in watching movies.

Hello

So im thinking of getting a air and sell my mbp, i dont need the power of the mbp and i would like something lighter and more portable for college.

Now that ivy bridge has been pushed back i dont want to wait either.

So my question to owners, how are you liking it, also what do you think are the biggest flaws of the mba?

How does the grey bezel hold up at night when watching a movie, is the bezel to bright and disturbing?

Would love to hear from you

For you, no, it will not. It will be plenty.

Regular users should not need more than 32MB of video memory to begin with. But "lack" of video memory is something nobody would notice for 99.9999% of the time they are on any computer. It's only apparent in either very intensive video games, or modeling softwares.

Thanks for your response. I forgot that i also play roller coaster tycoon, but the game is like 5 years old and is working fine on a toshiba from that time period with 1gb of ram.
also I play mini clip like once a year.. I dont really care about that though.

Love the MBA 13"

Have my MBA for one week now and love it. Light weight, fast, all the power that I need for the work I do. Got the i7 and glad I did. Only problem I am having is my time machine back up to my Le Cie is on USB and it is slow. Otherwise, near perfect machine for my needs.
