Considering traveling to California to get a 2 hour head start on preordering. I have a feeling if I have to wait until 2:00 am to order (Central time) it will be sold out. Advice?

This is actually such a solid plan. If you are flying from a major city within a Central time zone (Chicago, Dallas) a flight to LA would be about $97 - $150.
You'll get the most optimized head start if you are on airplane mode mid-flight at the apex of the timezone transitions. (Between 2:00AM CT and 12:00 PDT)
