All iPads Thinking of upgrading daughter’s 6th gen to a current one - worth it?

My daughter will be doing more extensive work on her own this year in 5th grade. She’s on her iPad a lot for entertainment as well. She likes to make dancing videos, how-to videos, take pics, watch YouTube, browse the internet.

Is the current 9th gen worth the upgrade in terms of speed and cameras (regular and selfie camera) over the 6th gen from 2018?

Speed: yes
Cameras: front one is better but not the back

The iPad 10th gen might get released Sep-Nov so maybe you can wait a bit before buying.

Normally, you'd use the front camera for selfies.

I just upgraded 5 grandkids from 6th gens (even one from an 8th gen, mainly for storage). I say yes. The Apple Smart Keyboard itself is a solid reason to upgrade. My grandkids are home schooled, but do a lot on their iPads, and the keyboard is nice to have.

It's definitely faster as well, and the base storage being at 64 is great.
