Thinner why?

All it does is increase heat problems and fabrication cost, while reducing usability.

You know apple will always go thinner if they can.

With talk of a 'low-cost' iMac - maybe a non-retina, coloured-polycarbonate shell would be an interesting product line.. 5C (or 6C) blue iMac..

A retina iMac will surely come with a price tag!

The aluminium helps with heat dissipation though, I am sure. All plastic would need more airflow and perhaps more fans/noise.

If the retina iMac were to be released this fall? How much do you guys think it would cost? $200 more than current models? $100 more than current models?

I'm just trying to build a budget estimate.
