This keyboard feels really nice, a little better than the 2015 MacBook I once owned. I've only been using it for a few hours but so far no stuck keys! Let's hope it stays that way...

Be sure not to eat anywhere near the laptop. A single crumb can ruin the keyboard.

The keyboard is polarizing; there's no question about that. Besides the touch bar, this may be the most controversial design decision by Apple in its laptops in a decade.

I'll say I've gotten used to the 3rd gen butterfly keyboard and actually prefer it now to the old keyboards. But obviously not everyone feels this way. The reliability issue is worrisome, but so far I have been lucky.

I HATED the keyboard on the 2015 Macbook and never quite got used to it. The keyboard on the Air seems much improved to me.

I had a 2015 rMB (twice) and could not get used to that keyboard. The Gen 2 was much more usable but is subject to dust/dirt issues. I don't really notice any difference between the keyboard on the 2017 rMB and the 2018 rMBA, ymmv. The funny thing is that I started out a real hater and now prefer the butterfly keyboard to the old chicklet version in my 2015 rMBP.

Agree, I also prefer the Gen 2 and Gen 3 butterfly kb now, but "polarizing" is an understatement. ;)

I've had one "incident" with my 2017 rMB. I solved it painlessly and quickly with a careful vacuuming. Apple's recommended solution of using "canned air" to blow the dirt around and hope that gravity will get it out of the keyboard does not make a whole lot of sense to me, but you do have to be careful with vacuum cleaners and keyboards.
