Apple today provided the third beta of an upcoming macOS Tahoe 26.5 update to developers for testing purposes, with the update coming a week after the second beta.

Developers can download the macOS Tahoe 26.5 update by opening up the System Settings app, selecting the General category, and then choosing Software Update. Beta Updates will need to be enabled, and a free developer account is required.

No new features were found in the first two macOS Tahoe 26.5 betas, and it's likely the update primarily focuses on bug fixes and performance improvements.

Release candidate 15.7.7 ? What about 15.7.6 ?

Release candidate 15.7.7 ? What about 15.7.6 ?
yeah that's strange isn't it.

i was kinda expecting rc 3's for 15.7.6 and 14.8.6 as they have not been publicly released yet.

but they have jumped to 15.7.7 and 14.8.7 rc 1

it raises a question will the public releases jump from 15.7.5 to 15.7.7 and 14 8.5 to 14.8.7 skipping 15.7.6 and 14.8.6 altogether - if so why?

or - releasing 15.7.6 and 14.8.6 today which also doesn't make sense as they did not yet release 26.5 (- usually the releases come on same day)

On my MacBook Pro ADGuard (nightly) does cause issues with this beta. If it es enabled, not one app can access the internet.

Or they are going to make the .6s with the next so called iOS update and mac os update 26.4.2.

Hope this update fixes the bug introduced in 26.4.1 that prevents hardware calibration of Apple Silicon laptops displays.

If those are at RC and assuming they check out, why doesn't Apple release them when they are ready instead of delaying them until Tahoe is ready?

Besides getting the security updates out sooner that would also cut the load surge on Apple's servers when Tahoe is done and released.

Cannot connect via screen sharing or ssh to an M1 Mac on this beta from an Intel-based iMac running Sequoia 15.7.5 (the highest that iMac can go).

If you're in a place where this is critical, obviously hold off.

File sharing still works.

EDITED TO ADD:

Just found the 15.7.6 update for the Intel Mac, now screen sharing and SSH work as they should.

So, 15.7.6 is mandatory to fully communicate with Macs running Sequoia.

And now for a change of pace.

Q: Any chance of getting that lead image with a Mac Studio instead of a Mac laptop? 😎

Would love to have that as a Desktop Picture.

Thank God this fixed the broken background webkit which was affecting creating messages in Mail and more. B2 was the first beta which actually broke day-to-day functionality for me.

The beta 2 failed to install - blamed my internet- I took it over to a friends house who is having no problems with internet and it failed as well

Beta 3 just failed - same issue

No internet connectivity at all.🙁 I suspect a conflict with Little Snitch. Disabling LS does not restore internet either. Removing LS, and internet works. The common thread of all these reports (Adguard, Norton etc) is they all employ network filters and/or extensions. This is a bare bones install used for testing and isolating. LS and LaunchControl are the only things I've added.

Is there a fix that anyone knows of? My Macbook Pro is pretty much a brick right now. No internet connection.
