You're right, android had it for years and iOS is playing catch up now so they should be the one having an easy time.

Android before the iPhone looked nothing like the iPhone. Android after the iPhone looked like the iPhone. You figure it out.

iOS had system wide copy paste before android had it just in the browser.

Some things can be done now if it doesn't require new apis.

I think you could do things like:
If ([[UIDevice currentDevice] systemVersion].floatValue >= 7) {
Ios 6 api
}

Any use of iOS 7 api and kobayashi maru...

You're correct for the most part, but some do mention it such as Yelp.

Look at the update release notes in the App Store and you'll see, for version 6.9.0, they commented,

". . . ton of general improvements out with this release, including some for you eager-beaver iOS 7 Beta users"

EDIT - credit to jbenkelman for posting this earlier. Should've read the entire thread :)

Haha. Thanks. I couldn't remember the way the worded it, but I knew it made me laugh.

Most developers are fixing bugs with version conditionals. I have done that with my apps and they are already live and have also a fork ready to go under the current beta. Once we get GM it's a build, regress, then submit exercise that should be done within hours and submitted. You will see a glut of updates once iOS7 releases, many barely tested, so beware.

This is what apps are supposed to look like on iOS 7, the apps that have "iOS 7 designs" are just lying

Pretty sure the apps can look many different ways even with iOS 7 "design".

I was talking about the status bar and how its combined with the navigation bar… I don't know if every app is forced to be like that though, i hope so, it looks really nice haha
