My dad is looking for a cheap third party iPad mouse to use to play a game with. He has a 6th generation iPad and would like to pay around £20 (we're from the UK).

He bought a cheap one, but we couldn't work out how to pair it even following the instructions on Apple's website. Whatever we tried, the mouse wasn't listed on the Bluetooth list in Settings on the iPad. I tried it on my iPad Pro and still couldn't do it.

Thank you in advance,

Gareth

many mouse today - even cheap ones - come with Bluetooth AND a 2.4 Ghz receiver to plug in a computer (usually delivered inside the mouse to take out). As a result there is although some kind of switch (between 2.4Ghz/BT) or a button to push e.g. hold it for 5 seconds and a LED indicates that the mouse is in pairing mode. Maybe you like to recheck this on the mouse you have.

Having written that: this, this, or this are examples for mice working nicely with iOS/iPadOS.

Thank you and there is a button, but I press it and nothing happens. I was just looking for a mouse that other people have used with their iPad and works.

While I can’t recommend it for gaming, I have a Logitech Pebble mouse that works just fine with my iPad Pro.
