Thinking of getting a mouse with 9 buttons, how can I configure it so that certain buttons do certain things like switching desktops, expose and other gestures.

I had a look around and found apps xgestures and Mac mouse fix that let you configure third party mice but I'm not sure if they will recognise all the buttons or are only set to recognise a few (like the standard left/right click, scroll/scroll click and the two side buttons).

Perhaps so of you here will know.

Thanks.

As for answering OP.

I also recommend SteerMouse, it does cost money. But it's the best mouse control software I have used across both Windows and MacOS.

I personally use it with a Logitech G500 that has 10 buttons all set up the way I like.

SteerMouse is great. It does have trouble with some mice with a ton of buttons, but it works well for the common ones. I have a Roccat Tyon that has 11 buttons and a paddle. For something like that, you really do need the actual configurator software so you have to run Windows to update the configuration. For most everything else I've been able to use SteerMouse.

Certain audio developer making grandiose statement about their DAW plugins on still only Intel ONLY and still being update as so! As audio I'm starting to think these plugins developers are fly by night guys and not worth the money anymore!
Seriously what are you talking about.

Both me and @Fishrrman are talking about SeerMouse a mouse software.

Because you challenged me! I'm saying I'm sick of fly by night developers asking for money but never updating their software this late in M1-2 sphere! They had two years sense the start of the change but still update for Intel only don't deserve money from users anymore this day!

But SteerMouse is universal
