Its always been a challenge logging in and out of the macbook pro. First password (apple id password) no problem. Second prompt (after 2FA is verified) asks for the user's password-no problem. After that the third password (I believe for ICloud Sync) seems to always be a problem. It was working earlier today now it won't take the password but it doesn't say "Wrong Password" as it does if I actually type it in wrong. Instead it gives some BS pop up and freezes up ICloud Sync. After 3rd try the message about too many unsuccessful attempts appear. Apple support suggested waiting 24 hours and try again - if still no go then "changing the users password works every time" according to them.
Why did it happen in the first place - No explanation given other than "You logged in and out too many times in one day - Geez I didn't know logging in and out 4 times in one day would cause a lockout - unbelievable!

More than likely iCloud is just acting up as it does from time to time. It does that on my watch. Just leave it alone for a while and it’ll take your password next time. It’s not you. FWIW, I have the same problem with Microsoft and my work logins occasionally. Back end server issue fun.
