As the title say, I’m on my third smart battery case in 4 months. Each one has had the same fault, where after a few weeks, the phone (iPhone XS) disconnects from the case with the slightest bit of pressure or movement such as taking it out of my pocket.

The most recent replacement took 18 days for Apple to get the new case because of stock constraints.

I’ve been looking into buying other third party charging cases but have had bad experiences in the past, plus i really don’t want to be spending extra on top of the already expensive Apple case.

Has anybody else been having the same issue?

Made a video of it happening

Yes same issue second case.

I think it might be due to the heat. The case expands and becomes loose for the phone. I am not sure if that’s what causes it. But it seems to happen to my case after I’ve used it in the sun for 15 min or so

I’ve noticed they’re out of stock pretty much everywhere at the moment so I expect they’re tweaking the design or at least doing some quality control. P

Anything tied to the design of the phone will be outdated when a new phone is released which is most likely this year. I’d rather invest in USB PD power banks than those battery cases.

I just got another replacement so it’s my third case in 4 months. I hope I was just unlucky and this one actually lasts

Nope, it is a sign to warn you that you should just get rid of it.
When you get a replacement next time, please sell it. and just order an Anker Battery Juice pack

I actually like the product it’s just a shame about the fault. Hopefully they will recall and make some adjustments

Yea seems like it might take some time though and not be an instant thing. It was going in and out after a few months, and I got something else. Decided to try it again last night, and so far it is not malfunctioning, so maybe it shrunk back to normal over time. Will have to see if it start malfunctioning again eventually.
