This a new iOS5 feature in video playback?

I just noticed that when playing a video on my iPhone (whether it be Youtube, Apple Trailers, Flixster, Music/Video (basically ipod) app) that you can put your finger on the timeline and it tells you that if you move your finger down while dragging you can control how fast you move the timeline up or down (basically quickly scroll to a point or go slower to find a certain spot).

Did I just not notice this in previous iOS's or is this a new feature to 5 (either way I like)?

The scrubbing feature has been there since iOS 3 if I recall correctly. It has been around for sometime.
