This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iPhone

    Hi all

    I've started to receive the above error when I connect my iPhone or iPad to either my MacBook Pro or a wall charger. I don't have another cable to try as I am on holiday. However, whilst I can't charge either my iPhone or iPad, I can still browse and backup my iPhone when connected to my MacBook Pro. Surely if the cable isn't working, this should not work?

    I'm not going home for another 3 days so it's lucky I have another phone I can use in the meantime otherwise I'd be screwed!

    This is a know problem and Apple will replace the cable without question for free.

    Do you think I'll have to make an appointment? I was only there last Friday having my 6S replaced due to a battery issue.

    do you have apple care do it over the phone they send you cable via mail and you send yours back

    No Apple Care. The cable could be a few years old but it appears to have becoming glitchy.
