So the update to include finally allowing SMS text tones... DOESN'T ALLOW CUSTOM????

WTF!?

This is pointless!!!

I feel your pain... VERY frustrating. And you can see that there are many posts and other threads discussing this subject.
I'm trying to 'semi-customize' using the obnoxious new tones provided by Apple...
 
Honestly I don't get what the big deal is with having a custom tone. What is wrong with the ones that come on the phone stock? I don't get custom ringtones either, I've always just used one of the ones that comes with the phone (iPhone and past phones).

I find it amusing when there is a room full of iPhone users, and one receives an SMS, 20 people pull out their phone to check for a message. :rolleyes:
 
I think its rather humorous how people are all upset about a text tone. As if the rest of the device is junk without this feature. lol
My car doesn't fly. Why not? We've had planes for decades now. WTF? :D

If text tones are that important, then jailbreak it. Its safe and it legal.
Your problem is solved. Or are you just one of those people that enjoys complaining about something even though there is a solution, but they don't like that solution?

Relax guys, its just a phone. :D
 
I leave my phone on vibrate 98% of the time anyway so it's not that big a deal to me, but it would be nice to be able to make ringtones for text.

You don't have to get it. Some people prefer custom tones. The end.
 
And might I ad the new SMS tones suck donkey balls. I mean my oh my who wrote these annoying bits of symphonic destruction.

Hardly a fair comparison.

Custom SMS tones is a relatively simple request, and is a standard feature on nearly every phone on the market - smartphone or otherwise.

The problem with Tri-tone is that everyone with an iPhone uses it. The problem with all of the other SMS tones is that they sound absolutely terrible.
 
Apple once again doing the same ol' shenanigans they've always been doing. And that's to always trick/tease their customers to always love the product, no matter which way.
I wonder if they hire a psychologist who tests people with their outrageous changes/tweaks, yet we ALWAYS go with it and call Apple "amazing, best ever" every time. Gosh I love Apple.... :rolleyes: wait, what? See.
