You mean almost exactly the same input feel as a Game Boy that uses rubber pads over a flat PCB contact? Sounds good to me.
Yeah except, it’s your screen, and there’s no button to depress the membrane! What is so hard to fathom here. You’re comparing something with 3 pieces to something with 2. The travel/action of the overlay pads will be completely different. The gameboy houses Plastic buttons ON TOP of membrane.

Nothing really gets in between the exterior shell and said PCB. And I assure you the tactile feel will be off, if nothing else due to the tolerances and it ‘floating’ over the screen. If any of it touches the screen at all, it will activate a press.

it’s still a stretch to say the device has buttons. It’s almost a conductive sticker with raised pads.

I pre-ordered one for the 16 Pro Max because it's the cost of a lunch, so why not. If it's horrible, not much lost. I like the concept and design though, so worth the gamble.

Would be cool if the screen would shut off in the lower half to save battery. Probably easy to do in the emulator app. Generally I like the idea of adding haptic buttons, would be even cooler it you could unfold it like a flip phone to reveal the full screen.
