Well, Venus and Serena Williams both have iPhone 3Gs and Blackberry 8900s. They use both of them often.

And it's called making money --that's what Whoopi is doing. Her personal preference of phone has nothing to do with the commercial. I don't think Tiger Woods drives around in a Buick all the time.

Celebrities are important enough to have multiple numbers, they need them. Who cares what phone she uses?

That is a first gen iPhone bag, looks like launch day by the photo. Atleast she tried if she did switch, but I'm thinking it was just for endorsements.

Agreed. I can't believe she would be considered a traitor.

When I bought my iPhone I don't remember signing a pledge of allegiance to Apple promising to never use another make of phone for as long as I live.

If that's an original iPhone on launch day, then that was more than 2 years ago. She's most likely moved on to another phone by now.

    She's smart. (I've met her)

But why wouldn't you accept money from T-mobile if they wanted to pay you to be on T.V.?

But it's in the terms of agreement in black and white:

'...Some features (in fact, every feature) may incur added costs. Contact your telephone company for more details. Use constitutes agreement to :apple:’s software license agreement. Unauthorized tampering with your iPhone software violates this license agreement. Bricking an iPhone due to unauthorized tampering is your own lookout and not covered under the iPhone warranty. You hereby swear a binding oath of loyalty to :apple: Inc. and agree to forgo using any other phone than an iPhone. You agree that abrogating this contract will cause the forfeiture of your first-born male child.'

Always read the fine print before you buy. ;)

It's not just America, it's either worse or just as bad here in the UK! Magazines 100% about what "celebs" (I'm upset that Firefox spellcheck accepts that word) had for dinner, who they're going out with, who they might like, how it's so hilarious that they're hair was last second's fashion last night etc. are massive here. Yup, loads of idiots...
