This Core Image thingy...

So this Core Image technology that is implemented into Tiger is what gives tiger the fancy looking widget effects and thge like?

And if you have a mac with a lower level vid card you cant display this stuff, so the fancy effects wont show on a mac mini or pb?

Core Image FAQ

Incidentally, Core Image works fine on most Powerbooks since they are the 'Pro' portables. It's iBooks that don't have the graphics cards (yet) to support it.
