This thing won't boot anything! CD and HD work, but won't recognize install CDs. The target disk mode works and I can view files but it shuts down the eMac randomly. I did happen to transfer a full install of OS 9 through target disk mode, but it didn't recognize the newly transferred OS as bootable.
I put in an install disk for 10.3 and holding C did nothing, just kept blinking that confused folder. Holding option at startup shows that it recognizes the disk as a valid startup disk, but when it's selected, it goes back to the stupid blinking folder.
Open Firmware checks out alright I suppose. After reading a few pages online it seems the the correct boot-device is being used. Single user mode won't work (only has Mac OS 9).
It's been PRAMed.
I mean, WTH is going on?!?! Have I used all resources? Are there just some Macs that refuse to boot? 😡
