Your own words contradict your statement.

You know less than you think you do; a complicated issue, so you definitely don't have to, or be expected to. But you know a lot less than you think you do.
This isn't the forum for this kind of talk, but.. if you think "you know" security because "your stance" is to "regularly" update your phone?

I've got a bridge to sell you. Nice view too, very scenic.
"Thank" you. I "will" take a "look" at this bridge.

"Updating" my phone regularly is not why I "think" I know "security."

Do you "know" how much I know?

The intended target is anyone and everyone that the bad actors can get to.
I have a reasonable certainty (99.99%, helps me sleep at night but isn't complete) that bad actors are not targeting me. There are billions of lower-hanging fruit than me. And there are millions of people with more valuable data than me.

They don't burn 0days on people like me. Those are worth millions of dollars for a (more or less) one-time use.

This article is writing about exploits targeting at most iOS 17.2.1, released 807 days ago.

Kind of disagree. Sure, everyone is as risk.

But state actors only care about journalists, political figures, and other visible people.

Russia doesn’t really care about you or me. Unless we work at a nuclear facility or are a senator, you are not at the same level of risk.
Russian doesn't want to hack your (or my) phone, they want to hack our news feeds and worldviews. And that's a whole 'nother kettle of fish.

Been using Lockdown Mode since Day 1 and I am a big fan. Makes me feel all warm inside when it automatically denies corpos access to my data

I have yet to experience any problems viewing the web with Lockdown Mode enabled. I am not saying it can’t happen mind you but, it seems (at this point) to be a niche experience problem.

Thanks, you're the first 1st person reviewer of Lockdown that I know. I pulled those bullets from the Macrumors-written thread on the topic. My reading is not that the web won't work but just that it's slower. Unclear to me how much slower.

Otherwise, I had no issues with all the other limitations listed for Lockdown that Macrumors listed. If browsing isn't terribly slower, one less issue holding me back...

Have you had issues with blocked FaceTime calls or other invitations?

I haven’t used FT or invitations to such while I have had LD turned on. Such is a very rare occurrence. As to web browsing, I have noticed a very slight delay at times with rendering but, nothing that has frustrated me.

Good that the latest versions are not affected. Always good to keep all devices updated to be safe from such issues.

You're the first person I've seen claim such a thing. Is there any more detail you can give about how it affects your daily use experience?

Try it for yourself

Works fine for me and I rarely turn it off. The only main problem is the inability to preview office docs. But you can use an app for that i assume
