I bet there will be some enhancement to the dock. Similar to what we have now in Cydia with Infinidock.

iPhone interface looks a little bit oldie, I think that it need a total redesign, maybe it could borrow the concept of using different "desktop" with wallapers.

Have all application icons in the screen isn't any functional at all.

Anyway, the interface isn't the only thing that Apple have to revamp.

That was a concept for a lockscreen information screen (though I can't think of the name at the moment). I think that might have also been made into a skin for LockInfo as well.

Google images for the Whitoken Theme if you want to really be impressed.

I agree, the Whitoken is a nice theme...

Of course to get a new home screen you would be required to upgrade.

Also, iPhone OS 4.0 will require 3G iPhone or better.

It was bound to happen to exclude older iPhones and 3 years after its release would be plausible. Just like computers - Apple will force users to get new hardware to enjoy software.

Here's my LockInfo setup on my 3G. If you really want functionality like that which is in the image, and don't mind Jailbreaking, you might want to look into LockInfo. I would love for Apple to revamp the UI in 4.0, however.

Hrm, this alone wants to make me JB my phone.

Another example of LockInfo. The lockscreen calendar is by far the most useful thing on my phone. I NEVER go into the Calendar app. Makes jailbreaking more than worth it by itself.

The screen has way too much going on at once. It's hard to look at. Apple always make visually pleasing UIs; so it's hard to say that they would crowd there screens with so much data. I'm sure they will polish the UI (ex. in the volume of Leopard's UI from Tiger).

I think they will just significantly improve notifications (and how they are dealt with). Also, they may add up/down swipes on the home screens to access 'Dashboard' or something of that nature.

I don't expect anything super dramatic like everyone is proposing. Apple never dramatically changes their UI (just like at Mac OS X; small changes in each release). Here's the thing too - the UI is solid. If it ain't broken, don't try to fix it. Seems like people get bored too quickly these days.

Well out of the others posted on here, the one in the pictures looks the best and cleanest. And i dont think that i should have to JB my phone to make it more functional, that should already be done of possible.

The one think that i really liked about the Android phone OS was how it showed everything that you would probably want to know on the home screen, and not just the time and day of the week like on the iPhone. (even though i think the nexus one and/or android 2.0 looses some of that)

I read somewhere on her before that someone said that along with the app store, Apple could make a theme store where people can make designs and put them in the store. Or even sell themes if they are that good. But that is all wishful thinking.

The waiting game continues once agin.

But it's not a rumor or even rank speculation about 4.0. You can't just take your favorite jailbreak theme/application and announce that it's a rumored 4.0 feature without any reason to think it is. This thread is about a jailbreak homescreen theming utility called LockInfo, not about the 4.0 lockscreen. You should retitle this thread.

You said this was a 4.0 lockscreen. It isn't. It has nothing to do with 4.0!

Obviously you have no idea what can be done to theme the lockscreen of a jailbroken iPhone. I can guarantee you that that is a a lockscreen, just as Etnies419's is.
