Here's my LockInfo setup on my 3G. If you really want functionality like that which is in the image, and don't mind Jailbreaking, you might want to look into LockInfo. I would love for Apple to revamp the UI in 4.0, however.

That's exactly the reason why I left the Windows Mobile platform. Reminds me of this .

The pic in the original post sure looks a lot like (exactly like including the time, ect.) this:

And it's been around awhile. If you follow the links in the blog you will see that Suarik is developing it and is almost done. It had been delayed due to some health issues, etc.

I believe it is based on his Cydget platform for the lockscreen.

Check it out.

I like it a lot! I would get the next iPhone even if there isnt much hardware change.

What do you guys think?
thats just a jailbroken current OS iPhone I have seen that theme loads on youtube it's not 4.0 screenshot

Hmmm lockinfo needs winterboard. Which kinda sucks on my 3G
no it doesn't lockinfo is it's own application, if you want to theme it then yet winterboard is needed.

NO ! Lockinfo now runs on native. Winterboard is not needed nor is a lockinfo theme needed.

This is LockInfo native

Looks great, apart from that awful slider.

Could you tell me how to get it please? I did used to run it with WB but it wasnt great with my 3G. Would love to be able to use it again :)

Another example of LockInfo. The lockscreen calendar is by far the most useful thing on my phone. I NEVER go into the Calendar app. Makes jailbreaking more than worth it by itself.

Where did you get the wallpaper from? It's pretty sweet.

The screen has way too much going on at once. It's hard to look at. Apple always make visually pleasing UIs; so it's hard to say that they would crowd there screens with so much data. I'm sure they will polish the UI (ex. in the volume of Leopard's UI from Tiger).

I think they will just significantly improve notifications (and how they are dealt with). Also, they may add up/down swipes on the home screens to access 'Dashboard' or something of that nature.

I don't expect anything super dramatic like everyone is proposing. Apple never dramatically changes their UI (just like at Mac OS X; small changes in each release). Here's the thing too - the UI is solid. If it ain't broken, don't try to fix it. Seems like people get bored too quickly these days.

That's not how it always looks though, only if you have a lot of notifications. Plus, you can also collapse all of the sections, so only the header shows. And I agree that Apple shouldn't completely change the UI. But notifications definitely need to be fixed. And I would also like a new way to display icons. While the springboard concept worked fine back in the 1.x days, when you only had one page of icons, it doesn't work so well now with all the apps you might have. Although Spotlight does do a pretty nice job, and I use that for the apps I don't have in Infinidock.

And to whoever was saying that my original post was a lockscreen, while LockInfo does by default show on the lockscreen, it also has an option to show on the springboard, which is how I have mine set up.

That is not the default slider. I put that slider on because it only requires moving it just ever so slightly to unlock the phone. Very easy to unlock without even looking at the screen.

Isnt that a bad thing tho, accidentally unlocking it?

How do you change the default theme?

What harm does unlocking it do. If you don't select an icon to launch an app, it re-locks in 60 seconds. I have never noticed it unlock without me consciously attempting to do it, although no harm if it does.

On native, there is no theme, the extension is pre-configured, you just adjust what you want to display with settings. The background is whatever wallpaper you have the lockscreen set on thru settings. With a winterboard lockscreen theme, you can bring in an alternate backgrounds and modifications.

Native -------------------------------------------------------------- Winterboard

Here's betting Apple "requires" you to upgrade to the 4.0 iPhone to get this new homescreen, if real.

it's not real because Apple always has the time on the iPhone set to 9:42AM for every REAL iPhone advertisement. the picture in the original post is at 4:20PM, so Apple didn't create that picture.

how do you get hold of this lockinfo theme? I have been googling and from what I can see the theme itself is free but the guy refuses to share it untill you PAY for his repo

It's paid.. you gotta do a small donation to the author... but its worth every penny.
