This is an all-around question regarding computers and the downloads folder...

    Hi.

    When you download something to the Downloads folder, but move it to another location, does it still need to be in the Downloads folder?

    Another question, do you need disk images saved on the computer?

    2) No, provided you install whatever is on them.

    The downloads folder is just a tempoary spot to save stuff. It's there so your Desktop doesn’t get cluttered. You can take stuff out of it or keep stuff in it if you'd like. Or you can just throw the files away, if you decide not to keep them.

    And with disk image files, you can throw them away too. So if you downloaded an application that was inside a disk image, after you've copied the file off the image, feel free to toss it.
