Good news - I was going to load FCP onto the Neo tomorrow...

Very small videos to edit (1080) stuff so it should be fine...

Gone? That seems like quite the exaggeration.
Unless you need to attach more than one monitor (at more than 60 hz), want a backlit keyboard, want more than 8 gb of ram, want more than 512GB of SSD, want actual ports (as in more than one), and a screen bigger than 13"...You know, any of that.

The guy in that video demonstrated that the Neo can video edit with ease. I’m expecting content creators to be pawning off their Pros and Airs for the Neo so they can have the latest. I don't know how Apple is going to be able to sell the air and pros because the Neo does the same thing for a lot less money.

What was Apple thinking? They should be reimbursing everyone with gift cards who overpaid for Pro and Airs.

Did you read what I wrote? Clearly not.

Yup, I can see it now and of course, who needs TB5 ports

USB 2 is fine
'nuff said

🤣

I'd be more amenable to that if the USB2 port on the Neo was USB-A shaped especially since so many dongles and thumb drives out there use that.

It would also eliminate the confusion since the ports are unlabeled and indistinguishable, despite having very different capabilities.

The USB-C port with USB2 is for charging. It's not there to support old stuff which you like. An USB-A port would be more ugly. Apple will never again support USB-A on a MacBook unless required by law.

The confusion will be there just the first time or the first few times. macOS will tell them if they use the wrong port and most users will remember to put displays, disks and other devices which need high bandwidth on the correct port.

With USB-A you have to try three times before you get it the correct way.

FCP works very well for 8GB !

Compared to my 32GB Studio Max it's slower but can be used so that's promising!

You have to use italics or an /s at the end.
