I'm sure you've heard the ol' "I'm never drinking again." during a terrible hangover. You may have even said it yourself.

Here's my version: I'm never upgrading without a jailbreak ready and waiting for me again. I never imagined it would take this long to see a new version released. What makes it so much worse is the multiple videos of people showing off their "private jailbreak".

There's so many things I miss and there's not a damn thing I can do about it.

And again.....

I feel for you. Waiting on tweaks to update hasn't been fun either.

Wish I could be back on iOS 6 with all my JB tweaks for that version. I had everything I needed/wanted set up exactly the way I wanted it.

Sucks that tweaks like BiteSMS, Dashboard X and a few others didn't make it.

I've said that with damn near every phone after one major upgrade cycle which means I'm probably going to jailbreak the latest possible version of iOS 9 and avoid iOS 10 altogether with my 6s.

In about seven months I'll be waiting for a jailbreak on iOS 10. :(

We'll be getting the 7/7+ when it comes out.

I'm just hoping there isn't further abandonment of JB tweaks at that point.

Did you just get a new ph? I'm thinking of getting a 6s+ this weekend, any chance it will be JB able?

I gave up the JB on my 6S+ about a week after buying the phone on December 10th because it kept respringing. Lots of us are waiting for a JB but it's not that bad of a wait. It will come when they think they should release it. My 6S came with 9.1 so I was never ever to JB it when I got it in December.

I still have a 5S, 6+ and an iPad Mini 2 jailbroken.

You may get lucky and get one with 9.0.2. It really is a lottery.

I actually upgraded mine because of the same issue. Hopefully the next one is a little more stable. It was by far the most problematic jailbreak in recent memory.

Wouldn't the tweaks you have installed at the time be the cause of the issues though?
There's a known but seldom mentioned issue for stock iPhones on 9.0-9.0.2 rebooting at night. Add in the fact that the early releases of Pangu weren't entirely stable and you have a phone you can't really use much even stock.

I was fortunate that I did not seem to be affected by this (I upgraded my 9.0 6s+ to 9.0.2 when it came out as the JB hadn't dropped then) but enough people were that the jailbreak just wasn't viable for them this time around.

Haha I feel your pain! I am currently without a jailbreak for the first time, ever since my original 4GB iPhone on OS 1.0.1 (AppTap JB). I even put up with an iPhone 4 with a shattered screen for 3 months waiting for the iPhone 5 to be jailbroken before upgrading. Very recently my iPhone 5 screen shattered and this coincided with AT&T ending contracts, so I went ahead and got a 6S on a contract while I still could. Damn, this thing is amazing! The speed increase and additional features does a lot to ease the pain. I can pop the SIM card out and put it into the iPhone 5 for tethering, which is my 2nd most essential tweak after the legendary BiteSMS (RIP).

this is true, my 6S on 9.0.2 has respring maybe once overall. But 3 times a week I wake up saying my password needs to be inputted after a restart.

first time my iphone seems so under-utilised with JB
dang! hopefully the jb come out soon

I had to use a stock phone today briefly and I'd forgotten about probably my FAVORITE JB thing..

Speeding up the animations..

MAN do stock devices feel dog slow to me!

I know, it's likely all just perception, but the faster animations just make things feel so much better to me. I couldn't wait to get back to my JB devices (pad & phone)

Once. Back in the 3GS days I bought the iPhone 4 before there was a JB available.

Never again.

Ever since I've not even thought of upgrading either my phone or the iOS I use until the JB has been available. The 6s JB was out quite quickly and I touched lucky grabbing one a day or so before they closed the signing window for 9.0.2

Yes, Apple have introduced a lot of JB tweets into stock iOS but there's still a list of about 20 tweaks I jailbreak for so a long way to go before I would think of not bothering to jail break.

They really do!

I only realise when I update to the latest iOS after a JB release and you have those 30 minutes while you're installing tweaks that it just runs so slowly. Then boom! No slow animations/fakeclockup etc is installed and I'm back to having my lovely quick iPhone again.

Speeding up the animations? One what phone? If you are using a 6s or 6s+, do you think the animation is slow? Just curious because I too am waiting for the JB, but for more basic functions. I just want to make my 6s+ a bit cleaner; get rid of the dash marks on the top and bottom lock screen, clean the home screen up a bit, etc.

I use speed intensifier on the 6s.

You don't realise how slow the animations are until you speed them up.

If you have a Mac you can side load a lot of stuff like kodi and many other things.
I'm not doing jailbreaks anymore because of side loading. The only thing I'm truly missing from jb is tetherme for emergencies but it's not an end of the world scenario for me.

I wish side loading solved things like the system animation speed....oh well

I'll likely always be a Jailbreaker, as I just never see Apple giving me the type of control over my iPhone that I enjoy having.

You can't side load a hosts blocker file to block ads in apps. Ad blocking is my number reason for jailbreaking today and rooting my Android devices.

I agree but for me the positives of side loading like running betas that run great like the current one plus having most of the stuff I wanted from a jb already on the system or side loaded then for me the decision was bittersweet at the beginning but love it now. Speed up tweaks are nice yet is more a placebo effect than anything for me personally.
