$85 is not bad at all for it's functionality Apple gets $30 for there plastic one. it has some use full applications for people. Just depends on if you have a use for it or not. At least the guy is bringing a original concept to the table.

This is a good baby monitor.

Ditto, but doesn't that mean I have to leave my iPhone at home while I'm out? I need my phone every second! and what if somebody calls, phone rings, thus wakes up my sleeping baby? ok I think I'm being paranoid.

I think an iPod Touch would do the job well. Maybe an expensive option but using it as a media device and baby monitor would be pretty handy.
