I was on youtube checking out the mac vs. pc ads and came across with this comment:

I am a computer specialist.
mac sucks. linux, which is also a pc, rules all of the big company networks.
windows has so many different programs that can run on it, compared to a mac which limits you to use specific softwares that are not so great. mac is a simplified version of pc actually . it is more like it is for beginners.

Does this kind of response actually surprise you? I see this all the time.

Not that youtube is any source of cultural change, but that guy is probably in a minority these days in terms of his hatred towards the platform. I think most Windows users these days don't assume that Macs are useless, and actually consider their options more than they did before (if last quarter's results are any indication).

i didn't search mac vs. pc, i searched for the mac vs. pc ads, the ones that are also on apple's website, but i went looking for them on youtube to show them to a friend of mine who couldn't open them on apple's website.

Either way, youtube comments are not of any particular quality, so it really is a moot point.

He probably doesn't have Quicktime updated(the videos on Apple's page always require the latest version).

As for the whole "I'm a computer specialist," remark, that is a common stance taken by many IT professionals. It's probably their fears of job security (or rather, insecurity).
