Many think the TIFF files exported by Camera+'s Pro mode (or other, similar apps like 645 Pro) are of significantly higher quality than the JPEG files created by the stock Camera app.
Unfortunately, as has always been with all iPhone models, this is in no way true. These TIFF files are based on exactly the same over-noise-reduced input as the stock Camera JPEG's. You will NOT get significantly better images if you use Camera+'s Pro mode. The only advantage you'll have is a not destructively compressed TIFF file (as opposed to JPEG's). Neverteless, the visual quality degredation introduced by using JPEG's are definitely in another league than those of the very strong noise reduction, particularly with the latest iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. The latter has also been strongly emphasized by DPReview's own report.
This is why the following two test shot crops (both done by me) aren't really different. The TIFF-based one exhibits the same (unfortunately, with the 6s+, very high) amount of smearing because of noise reduction than the stock JPEG one. And, again, this isn't caused by my encoding the TIFF crop into a JPEG file - the original TIFF file is equally bad.

All in all, you can only hope my ongoing hack efforts turn out to be working. (They already have for panoramas - more info HERE.) Nevertheless, they will only be accessible on jailbroken devices.
