You "pause" live TV to your hard drive when the first commercial comes on.

Then you go make a drink, attend to some plants, have a leak, whatever.

Come back 10 minutes later and start fast forwarding.

haha yeh i do that quite a bit - but live TV... 😉 😀

i wish TV ads had a special identifier, so when watching a video via playback you had the option on the remote to "skip" ads altogether rather then seek through them.

The Progressive commercials with Flo are like fingernails on a blackboard. On the other hand, the State Farm guy doesn't bother me at all.

The Geico squealing pig is so insane it always makes me laugh, as does their drill sergeant/therapist and those woodchucks. The wallet-and-phone one and the Lincoln one make me smile. OTOH, the Antiques Roadshow parody is just lame.
