Resolved This odd grey line (bar) beneath Dock icons. What is it?

    Maybe it's been around for a while, but I only noticed it after upgrading to Sierra. What is this odd little grey line (bar) underneath by Dock icons? Apple's support pages don't mention anything about it. Thanks if you can answer this.

    I don't know why it happens but I get it from time to time and restart clears it.
    Actually can't remember if I just log out rather than restart.

    It's the download indicator sometimes it gets stuck

    Just kill the Dock in the terminal, or reboot, to fix it.

    Doh! So that's what it was all along. Thanks for the answer, everyone.

    And yes a simple reboot got rid of it.
