I had been using Time Capsule as my base station, and it had worked perfectly for three weeks. I'm currently in the process of setting up my one week old MacBook and trying to rescue an external hard drive that has a clone of my old G5 on it. Bear with me here...I'll tie this all in. Also in this house is a PB G4. Both the MB and PB were working fine with the TC. I transferred some files to the TC via a dd if= command in Terminal using the PB G4. I used the PB because it has 10.4 and a PPC, which connects easier to my damaged G5 clone better than my MB. So anyhow, I was trying to use Migration Assistant on my MB when it was connected to the TC via ethernet. The .img I previously created using dd if= did not complete for one reason or another, so I was going to see if I could just make a disk image of the G5 clone that went to MB by linking the external drive (that didn't connect well via USB or FW to my MB) to my TC via USB and then connecting my MB to TC via ethernet. I think I may have gotten a little overzealous and modified some TC settings or something.
Regardless, here's the main issue:
None of my laptops will recognize TC whatsoever! They won't recognize the disk, nor will they recognize any wireless signal from the TC. The light is a solid green. I've attempted unplugging my TC (I even left it unplugged overnight) and unplugging my cable modem and doing the whole restart. Nothing. When I connect a laptop to my TC via ethernet, I can connect to the internet, but I still can't see the TC disk. I've also used the same ethernet cable and modem with my Airport Express, and the setup worked fine.
What gives???
