But see I don’t care about having a huge battery. I backpack a hundred miles between outlets and use a Anker 10,000MAH battery to power my devices. The iPhone SE is more “power efficient” compared to the 2019 iPhones and I have done studies to prove that fact put on the trail with other hikers.

The 5.4 inch “rumored” iPhone will still not exceed the iPhone SE in power to weight ratio, along with the fact that the iPhone SE can transmit up to 999 kbps lossless audio to your ears via the 3.5mm jack...whereas Bluetooth & the doongle can only emit 255kbps maximum latency.

But there is no choice
Falhófnir. That is the problem here. Tim Cook killed Steve Jobs’ legacy “width” of the iPhone from the original up to the SE.... All the options today are: Big Mac, Whopper or a Baconator... there is no single hamburger with cheese option...and they have specifically removed that in order to faten up the customers and upsell Bluetooth headphones by removing something that nobody was complaining about...

Apple’s explaination for the removal of the 3.5mm jack was to “waterproof” the device...THAT IS A BOLD FACED LIE...you look at with LG & Samsung have done with devices that meet or even exceed the post 2017 iPhones in waterproof capability and they retain the 3.5mm jack.

Wake up and smell the coffee everybody

It is true removing the 3.5mm jack for waterproofing as Apple suggested was lame. Not sure why they said that, as if telling us the truth would tip their hand to competitions development to what they were really working on.

Google had a different reason why they went from 3.5mm to USB-C audio.

Now Samsung removed the 3.5mm jack.

So there you have it. The trend continues.

Personally I hate the SE and will not spend $1000 on a 5.4“ Pro next year or anytime soon. The fact some of us like bigger phones doesn’t make us sheep as others suggested either.

One can always use the 3.5mm to Lighting port connector with your earbuds though they still can’t meet that same wired 3.5mm audio quality.

It is what it is.

Explain how the Bose would be any better when Bluetooth has a cap at 255kpbs latency? The fact that you people think “this” is progress is apart of the reason why Trump got elected...because real Americans are fed up with corporate America dictating to us how to live and comport ourself

Bose will not offer any improvements in sound clarity and latency over the AirPods... there is a physical limitation of 255kbps over the air...and no matter what any marketing department comes up with to compel you to open you wallet...your ears will suffer

it’s simple. I don’t like the AirPods.

...but damn the battery life is OOTW (out of this world)!

Went from crappy Samsung LOLaxy to the 11 Pro and then decided to go for the big dog the 11 Pro Max and I couldn’t be happier. Even though this is a heavy phone the screen size and the battery are sweet!

Which Samsung phone did you have?

It’s definitely the heaviest phone I’ve ever used, worth it though.

Good for you!!! You know what...you could still have your low audio quality AirPod Pros with an iPhone that has a 3.5mm jack for high quality audio when needed...but you seem to think having less options is better...I guess you’re thinking differently
I have the AirPods, not the pro. And up until last week I was using a 6s. In the years I had that phone, from the day I bought the AirPods I never once plugged anything into the jack. So why exactly is my complete indifference to the jack problematic for you? I have 2+ years of first hand usage to tell me that the “option” of the jack is 100% irrelevant to my usage.

I buy the device for *my* life, not a hypothetical tech spec measuring contest.

People want a lighter phone like the iPhone SE.... Apple has been conducting focus groups in a echo chamber in California and that is not a real representation of America. Stainless Steel & Glass are stupid and add unnecessary weight. It’s good for chiropractors because these heavier and heavier devices are crippling a lot of users and they are racking up a lot of customers.

Titanium and carbon fiber are the way to go, and I have walked 7,000 miles across America armed with only an iPhone SE as my computer, and it does 98% of what your “bricks” can do at 50% of the weight and a much smaller floorprint.

People obviously want bigger devices hence why everybody is making them as their flagships and why people keep buying them. You act like companies don’t want to make money and are making big devices for the sake of it. Apple introduced the bigger models because people overwhelmingly demanded it.

Yes your SE can do much of what my pro max can do but I love the big OLED screen because I don’t just use it as a tool, I use it as an entertainment device. The thought of watching content and browsing the web on a 4 inch screen in 2019 is just painful.

Also overly dramatic much? Chiropractor? 😂😂😂. Personally I find it to be the ideal comfortable weight, I don’t want a device that feels like I can snap it with my bare hands.

Firstly it is progress in regards to convenience and being practical especially when walking and cycling which is when we mostly listen to music on our phones. I’ve lost count of how many earphones that have lost sound in one speaker due to flex based damage on the wire, not to mention all the irritating snagging, etc etc

Is it the greatest sound quality? No but it’s more then good enough for the commute and not to mention the sound you are getting is limited by the DAC in your phone anyway. If you really care that much about the sound you’d get an LG V series device.
When I want the best music experience I’ll listen to my Hi-Fi at home.

Also there can still be a big difference between the Bose or AirPod pro’s. There is more to sound quality then just bit-rate.

Again the weak DAC in your SE isn’t going to be outputting anything great either despite that 3.5mm.

The iPhone SE will have 3.91 times the sound spectrum capability of the “rumored” 5.4” device.

Plus Apple will put those copper coils on the rear of the device for wireless charging...which is nothing but deadweight for people like us that are into biking, climbing, and other forms of outdoor recreation where we have a physical battery bank to charge the device.

I just did a test at the Apple store with the AirPods Pro, and the marketing department at Apple along with the editors at MacRumors have fooled you all once again into thinking these devices provide excellant audio. You people simply say that to justify the loss of funds you can incurred on this device. The 3.5mm Apple headphones that come with the iPhone SE exceed the audio latency of the AirPods Pro by 3.91 times.

But I guess if Apple and MacRumors state, “The sky is red.” Then after enough times repeating the same lie, people will engage in herd mentality...because let’s be honest Tim Cook treats us like sheep. Steve Jobs was a visionary and thought differently...Cook just wants to follow the herd over a cliff

How dare people have different preferences to yourself!!!! They are wrong and only you can be right!!! What you want is best for everyone!!!

Again you know, the DAC is still weak. For such a massive audio expert you seem to be completely unaware of that major detail. Unless you carry around a dedicated DAC aka more of that feared “deadweight”you are still not getting great audio. If you cared that much you’d have an LG or a dedicated high end device.

The copper coil deadweight comment just made me laugh, those coils weigh about as much as a sugar cube.

You just come across as somebody who is incredibly insecure about having an SE.

I recently bought a cheap SE to use as an iPod when I go running. I have to admit that I like it lol I like how it’s not made of glass and not fragile. I don’t even have a case on it like I do for my Pro Max. I can grip the entire thing with one hand and easily use it with one hand.

I’m going to think really hard next year if they release a 5.4 inch Pro.

I like your thinking. A lot. How on Earth did you walk 7000 miles and why?! o_O

All since the S4 and some Notes as well. Last iPhone was the iP5 I think...
