iPhone 13 Pro This years’ iPhone saga?!?

I know many of you followed my Covid-inspired iPhone saga last year (even those who were hateful about it all couldn’t seem to stay away), and were likely waiting with bated breath to hear what was going on in my iPhone life (obviously I’m kidding - I know most of you couldn’t care less), so I just figured I’d give an update.

Got my 13 pro on Monday - first pro ever (well I had an XS Max for a couple days). I’ve been reading so much about the weight differences on here that I was a little nervous I wouldn’t love it.

Coming from a 12, the weight difference is pretty negligible. Yes I can tell it feels a little more solid in hand, but those few ounces just don’t make a difference. The camera lenses are a bit obnoxious, but I’m getting used to them. It arrived about 2/3 charged Monday afternoon, and other than having it plugged in while I transferred stuff over, I haven’t charged it, and it still has about 30% battery. Battery life isn’t a huge issue for me, as I typically have a charger handy, but dang this is impressive!

The camera is awesome! Coming from a regular phone and not a pro, I had a bit more of a camera jump, and I’m liking that, but I’m loving the macro! It is really a great addition, and I will likely use it quite a bit.

My display is fantastic, and honestly, though I didn’t think I’d give a hoot about the pro motion, it is more noticeable than I thought. The additional brightness is something I was looking forward to, and it’s a noticeable difference, although IDK if that’s just because I didn’t have a pro before.

Overall, I am super pleased - no regrets.

Please tell me you chose sierra blue…. That would make my life complete! 😂😂

Congrats! Dropping my message here, so just to receive notification when there will be season 2 with a purchase of 12 Mini. 😁

I got silver because I can never commit to a color, and, ever since I found them, I always get Loopy cases. I love the idea of venturing out, but I can’t give up having a Loopy - makes it too easy to hold and use.

What’s the best thing you love about your 13 Pro?

Well, I’m pretty pumped about the camera - that was probably the main reason I went ahead and upgraded. But I have been surprised with some of the other things that I didn’t think would matter as much, like the battery life and pro motion.

As I said above, battery has never been a big issue or selling point for me, but I think it’s gonna be really nice to just have battery most of the time.

I'm currently weight my options: 13 mini or 13 Pro? 13 mini or 13 Pro? On the one hand... but on the other hand... but on the other hand... but on the other hand...

(Fiddler on the Roof fans, I'm waiting for that moment where I can finally say, "There is no other hand!". I will imagine it in Topol's voice, but less angry.)

Question: I've always been irked by the iPhone camera bump since the 6. My current SE 2020, fine, I have a case, so it's like there is no bump. But that CAN'T be the case with the 13 Pro, right? So here's the question. I see you have a case. When you put the phone down flat, is the point of contact the case's edge around the entire camera module (so, something of a line), or is it one of the lenses, protruding so far out that it is well clear of the case (so, a point)?

But on the other hand...

(And, oh, thank you for making my day by correctly using "couldn't care less".)

Looks absolutely stunning, I like the contrast between the case and the iPhone itself and I totally get you on the Loopy cases, a family member has a similar case on her Xs Max and says the same thing.

Actually, with the Loopy case, it doesn’t lay flat when I lay it camera side down, and since the loop keeps it lifted, the case edge is what it rests on, not the lenses. Also, I can lay it face down and the case keeps the front from having contact with whatever surface as well.

So glad I could make your day! I have some grammar pet peeves for sure!

Oh, and just to address your dilemma, I would love to be able to use the small phones. I tried the SE2020, and I loved so much about it, but I just couldn’t type on the keyboard, even zoomed. I need a little bit more room. I really prefer the aluminum on the regular phones, but I’ve wanted a pro for the camera for several years, and this just seemed like the year to go for it.

awwwww. thank you for sharing! i love seeing fun stuff on here!

i absolutely love your case!

i came from an 11 pro max and i was SO impressed with the 13PM camera! i, too, love the macro and i love the better zoom! still can't get as good of hummingbird pics as with my nikon.... but OMG what a difference on a full zoom in on the 13PM!

NOW i'll be watching next year for next year's saga!!! 🥰

Glad you liked it. 13 pro/pro max are all beast.

I was once able to get a hummingbird capture on slo-mo on my iPhone SE 2016. Boy, a telephoto would have made it a much better outcome!
