Does the silicone case for the iPhone 7 feel different than previous years. I bought one for the 7 and it feels more slippery, less... "silicone"?? Is it just me??

Thanks

I never had the previous one, but from what I have read, it seems there were too many complaints about the old one attracting dust, so I think they made it a little less sticky.

I can confirm the old one was a dust magnet, I stopped using it after about a week because of this.

I've got both the 6S and 7 versions of the Apple Smart Battery case (white and black respectively) and can definitely tell the difference in feel for both of them. The 6S version is slightly more grippy but tacky (lint magnet) whilst the 7 version is more slick and slightly less grippy. I can imagine it being a challenge to find the best compromise in texture.

I just got the black silicone case for the iPhone 7 this morning – had the leather version for my 6S so can’t compare the old silicone to the new, but the must say it has really surprised me a lot. Actually bought it to be more water durable compared to the leather (sweat when running - recording video/pictures around water/snowboarding) but the quality feels awesome!

I bought the Spigen Liquid Armor case for $12 off amazon and the quality is amazing. Great grip and no issues. Picked it up for gym use etc and the Apple Leather for daily use.

I had a the silicone for my 6s+ now have it for my 7+. It absolutely feels better and less tacky. Slides in and out of my pocket awesome. Feels smooth in the hand & adds just enough grip. I prefer the silicone over the leather for some reasons people above me noted.

The new one seems to have a 'powdered' coating. But as time goes one, it begins to break down and becomes more tacky feeling. I've had my for 13 days now and its definitely starting to break it. More grippy/tacky. Its very similar to my 6s case now.

Ahh if that's the case, that stinks. I still prefer the silicone to the leather. I have the midnight blue currently on my matte black 7+. I still enjoyed my 6s+ case.

Oddly I don't like any other silicone cases other manufacturers makes. Something about apples though...

Never had the old one, but I bought and returned the silicone case for the 7. It was a complete dog hair magnet. If its better than the previous version, I can't imagine how bad it used to be

I like it because it seems to hold up better. If it gets dirty, you can clean it with a magic eraser, just like the watch bands. The silicone bumpers for the iPhone 4 were horrible. They have really improved the silicone they use.

Mlrollin that's exactly what I figured it was going to happen. That the powder was going to wear off and honestly I prefer for it to be like the 6s silicone, very grippy.

Its totally different to the 6s one, too smooth and slippery, almost 'silky'. My 7 JB is super grippy, in this case its like soap... really disappointing. Took it back.

Just smear some obenaufs on the leather. It won't show wear either

Not sure I get what you mean? In a case your jet black phone feels exactly the same as a rose gold or matte black phone feels like?

I'm very happy with this Apple silicone cover for both looks and feel

Do you have a JB? its super grippy. My 6s is slippy, when I put it in last years S case, it was SUPER grippy. The JB is grippy, in the silicone case its slippy as hell
