I have seen many people saying the price is too high, but they’re still getting it. Just curious if you feel like you’re getting a fair deal, or if Apple is bending you over? I am a huge Red Bull fan. I know damn well a can isn’t worth the $3 I pay, but I still buy them. Just because someone buys something doesn’t mean they don’t feel cheated.

So do you who are buying the 256/512 X Max feel like it’s worth the price, or do you feel like it’s overpriced but you want it and will overpay for it?

To Have that amount of storage and pay that price, I don’t have an issue with that. Just the fact that Apple is offering 512 GB for the first time on an iPhone is incredible. That’s half a terabyte of storage, some will find that useful and will be willing to pay the price, because they have that amount of intensive media and applications stored on their phone.

I was elated to have the option to upgrade to a 512gb phone. I value my local storage and use my my phone as my photo/video album.

That said, the extent of the premium pricing for increased storage is the one area I feel Apple puts it to me. I found the article I’d read several years back, explaining the cost to Apple vs the cost to consumer for the storage increase. This is one area they see huge profit margins. I understand it, I’ve accepted it, but it’s tough knowing that $350 premium I paid for 512gb likely cost Apple $35.

It's a bargain if you use your phone everyday for 8 hours or more and not upgrade for three years or more.

Honestly, I just see it as that’s how much it costs. A company is selling a product at their price. I’m not just buying the product, I’m also buying what comes with it. Customer service at store, phone service, etc. I have the choice to buy something or not. So I will never feel cheated if it’s my choice. That’s just the price for the product. I’m good with it.

Sorry for the typo's, I'm so tired lol. Yes, you can. iCloud Drive and iCloud photo sharing. I also use Lightroom cloud services.

You can move photo's to there and delete them from the phones memory.

I've never had a second thought about iPhone prices because it's one of the most polished products on the market today. The price for the 256GB Max however did give me pause. I didn't think twice about ordering it mind you (I'm a sucker for big screen phones) but would I recommend it to my family / friends at these prices? Don't think so.

Well I was supposed to get the XS but some morning confused communication between my husband and me means I get the XS Max next Friday. It’s going to be a fair price once my iPhone 8 Plus trade in is processed. I got 256GB. I’ll go 512 next year when some other upgrades I’m looking for are likely to happen and will get me to keep the phone longer than a year. Meanwhile 256 will do fine and 512 was just luxury I don’t absolutely need at the moment.

I was all set to pay about the same for a Note 9 a few weeks ago. Samsung dropped the ball in a few ways, so it gave me a chance to take a different path.

Because of pwm flicker I may end up with the Xr, though.

exactly how I feel about recommending it to people. most my friends and family would be totally happy with an XR.
Its too much for me but I came from an X so im used to it now but I really wanted a phone I can just stop buying new phones with. The x was a tad on the narrow side I wanted more size again.
I think ill have this phone for 2 years easy. I want to keep it for 3+ because I feel like phones now should last more in line with actual computers 3-6 years.

If you use iCloud photo sharing is there a way to sort the photos into albums?

Old enough to remember my first computer. I'm simply blown away by what's in this new model (trillions of instructions per second???) and actually feel it's a steal compared to the $350 I paid for a 400 meg drive in my youth.

Given that it frees me from the office and pretty much is a personal assistant, I'm good with the price.

Yeah it’s stretching it. I mean $2,350 for a 256GB Max with AppleCare.. ouch. I pulled the pin as I miss the big screen going from a 6+ to an X, hopefully I can regain $1,000.

my first computer in 1995 was a performa 6110CD. look up the specs... mom paid about $3000 for it. later i got an external one gig drive for $500.

i bought an imac two years ago... about a grand less.

i am not a pro user. the time i spend on my iphone is at least an order of magnitude greater than the time i spend in front of the computer these days.

so looking at dollar paid per actual usage, i can justify it. especially if it is dependable as i have always found apple products to be.

A can of RB is as good as a can of gasoline for your health. Problem is, you are not a mechanical car. So I hope you realize being a RB fan is a killer for your health.

Not at all.

Compared to the iPhone X:
Updated gigabit modem with 4x4 Mimo.
Updated Face ID
6.5 inch flat display
All new 12mp sensor
Smart hdr
Updated Face ID
Faster wireless charging
Better stereo speakers
Updated 8 core npu vs 2 core on the a11
Stereo recording
Ip68 vs ip67
And 512gb of internal storage.

If you look at what the competition is offering in 2018:

Apple is one of the only companies offering nvme storage instead of being cheap and offering ufs.
Stainless Steel over aluminum.
Dual sim
First 7nm processor vs 10nm
120hz touch sample rate vs 60hz touch sample rate.
Faster 3D facial recognition vs 2d
Dolby vision
Being able to record in 4K for longer than 5 min.
Actually holding its value.

The more I think about it, i would feel “bent over” had I purchased one of the competitors handsets. Such as a galaxy, now those look incredibly dated and judging form all the huge discounts being offered, those are completely overpriced, iPhones actually hold their value, if you decide to sell.

Apple has been doing this for years on most of their products, why is this phone any different? Most of their products are overpriced and not worth nearly what they charge... But people still buy them (myself included)
